While conducting the conventional medical education program the management has kept the objective of holistic development of students through academic flexibility by introduction of Value Addition Courses as follows:
– Winning Personality Development Program: Students are found to be wanting in expressing their possessed knowledge due to lack of communication skills. Emphasis is given to teach them communication skills in English, Hindi and Marathi under the guidance of subject matter experts. Also, various psychological issues of the students due to which they develop frustration and/or suicidal tendencies are addressed through lectures and counseling via a carefully developed mentoring system consisting of psychological experts, senior faculty members and trained counselors.
– Value Orientation Program: The parent institution of MIMSR Medical College, MAEER, was founded by visionary educationist Prof. Dr. Vishwanath D. Karad based on his staunch belief in the teachings of the Noble Son of India Swami Vivekananda. It is therefore the institution’s emphasis to develop the moral and ethical values of the students along with their academic development. The cultures and values of Ancient India like ‘MAtru Devo Bhava, Pitru DEvo BHava, Acharya Devo Bhava, Rashtra Devo Bhava’ are constantly imbibed in the students through various programs. Emphasis is given on the practice of yoga for healthy living. Smoking and consumption of alcohol and tobacco products is strictly prohibited on the campus. It is our endeavour to create a morally and physically strong and able generation of doctors for the service of MOTHER INDIA.
– Environmental Protection Programs: MIMSR Medical College, Latur has a very lush green and sylvan campus which is maintained with the help of students and staff together. Students are constantly updated with the necessary data on pollution hazards, carbon footprints, environmental depletion, global warming and climate change that are affecting planet earth, in order to increase their environmental awareness. India is very rich in biodiversity, which is one of its strengths. It is necessary that the students be aware of this and perform their duty to conserve the same.
